Died after experiencing chest pains and collapsing aboard the amphibious assault ship Essex while at sea

May, Senior Chief AOCS Jason P., age 37, passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2015. He was deployed aboard the USS ESSEX LHD2 at the time of his death. Jason bravely served in the United States Navy for the past eighteen years.

The Essex left San Diego in May to deploy to the 5th Fleet area of operations alongside the amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore and the amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage.
