Craig Bishop passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Midland, Michigan at the age of 36 years. Craig was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on July 28, 1981 to Michael and Claudia (Gentelia) Bishop.

Craig was a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy serving for the past 17 years and a member of Peoples Baptist church. In his spare time he enjoyed building and constructing things and was an avid artist. Most of all he loved his family and children.

Craig is survived by his wife, Melissa; children, Samantha, Juliana and Alexander Bishop; father, Michael Buford Sr. (Cathie) Bishop; mother, Claudia Bishop; twin brother, Jamie Matthew (Amanda Brewer) Bishop; sister, Karla Dawn (Ryan) Cook; brother, Michael Buford Jr. (Amber Birnbaum) Bishop; brother, William Joseph (Heather) Bishop and sister, Brooke Ann (Robert Adams) Bishop.

He was remembered by one of his commanding officers with the following words.

Craig was an outstanding man and it was my distinct pleasure to be his CO on his deployment to Cuba. I was extremely impressed with the work he did and his dedication to duty. I was proud of his promotion to Chief Petty Officer. This is a loss for so many people who loved him. May God have mercy and grant him peace.
