Passed away after a short battle with cancer

Collin James Vervaras, age 27, passed away in his home on Sunday, December 11, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Known for his contagious smile, Collin had a zest for life. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed golfing and University of Michigan football and basketball – GO BLUE!

Collin has been dealing with an unusual amount of hip pain since the end of August 2022. Multiple trips to the ER had us under the impression that he was dealing with tendinitis. However, the pain started to get worse. After his last trip to the ER on Monday 10/3/22, our worst nightmare began once again. His white blood cell count skyrocketed, and his Dr.’s at U Of M were very concerned. Within a matter of 24 hours, leukemia was found in his blood for the second time.
