Bradley C. Fox

Sergeant First Class, United States Army

May 20, 1969 – April 20, 2004
Age – 34
Adrian, MI

1991 Gulf War, Operation Iraqi Freedom
1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Friedburg, Germany

Killed when his military vehicle hit an improvised explosive device

SFC Bradley C. Fox of Orlando, Florida planned on finishing his tour in Iraq and then re-enlisting as a recruiter in the Midwest. He wanted to retire from the Army with 20 years of service.

He was a dedicated military professional who wanted to finish his career in the military and live a successful civilian life. He was also a veteran of the 1991 Gulf War, and was working toward a master’s degree with the intent of becoming a college instructor, either teaching military science or ROTC. He was two months short of ending his tour in Iraq. Bradley grew up an only child in Adrian, Michigan where his mother still lives always took care of her, always making sure that she had everything that she needed. Survivors include his wife, Sabine, and their three children.

He was admired by many of his brothers. Their memories are below –

I always felt a young SSG Fox had great potential. I knew he would go far in the Army when I was his Platoon Leader in 2-2 Infantry. It is never an easy thing to hear an old comrade is no longer with us, but I cannot imagine what this loss means to a parent, mother, or child. Bradley Fox was a good man and a great Soldier. I hope both he and his family can find peace.

Respectfully,
Major John Motszko
FOB Hammer, Iraq

SFC Fox, Kuwait was a mess when we got there as part of 1st Armored Division Advance Party. We were the first senior NCOs from 1AD to get to Camp Udari/Beuhring in April 2003. Fighting sand storms, acquiring tents, (and tried to keep them standing), cots and supplies for the main body. I couldn’t have done it without you, your steadfast dedication and leadership. RIP Brother. God Bless. 23 May 2009″

Brad,
You’re were a true American Soldier and a friend. We were stationed together when I was with 1/36th IN in Friedberg, Germany and I’ll never forget you, buddy. When I arrived on the advance party for the battalion in Kuwait last May, you welcomed me and told about all the crap you doing since you got there. Thanks. I last saw you on Bandit Island before I PCSd back to the states, joking around as usual. You will be truly missed by all that knew you and the world will be a little less brighter without you here with us. I just found out the other day that you passed away from an injury you received back in March. Wish I had known sooner to pray for your recovery but I now I will pray for your soul. Watch over our friends in Iraq and your loving family. Take care amigo.”
SFC Peter Johnson of Ft Huachuca, AZ

Warren Harris commented 10-2024 – SFC Bradley Fox was my platoon Sergeant when he was killed. I think about him all the time. I don’t have much to say, but I hope everybody has had their closure.
