GySgt Aaron A Furness lost his battle with PTS on September 24, 2015. He was 38 years old.

On May 19, 2000 he married Heather Fox in Bloomfield Hills. Aaron served his country in the U.S. Marines for 19 years and did a tour in Iraq from 2007 to 2008.

His military awards and medals include Good Conduct Medal (6th award), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Certificate of Commendation (unit award), Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Mast, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Certificate of Commendation (Individual Award), Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
