September 18, 1993 – April 2, 2022
Age – 28
Rochester Hills, MI
156th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, Howell, MI
Died from injuries in a car accident
SGT LaPointe was a standout Lacrosse player at Regina High School where she was known as “Donnamite” and earned all Catholic League honors and later at Oakland University where she was known as “Hot Donna” and earned WCLL 1st Team All League Honors her Freshman and Sophomore years, and was selected WCLA Second Team All American as a Freshman and WCLA First Team All American as a Sophomore.
Sergeant LaPointe in the Army National Guard, 156 Expeditionary Signal Battalion underway to deploy in support of Operation Spartan Shield, was lost to all that cared and love her in a tragic car accident Saturday April 2, 2022. This amazing Soldier also held the title of Executive Technology Support Specialist at Rocket Mortgage when not actively serving our Country. Though only 28 years old when she passed, her exemplary actions and attitude encouraged others.
Upon completing basic training with the Army National Guard, in a class of over 400 recruits Donna was awarded “Soldier of the Cycle” and presented the honor by a three-star general. She rose to the occasion in every way while serving our county and at home with her family and core group of friends. There is nothing that will fill the void of this loss. Donna left behind those whom she knows were influential in her life and will remain in their hearts.
