SFC Christopher Cooper was one of “22 A Day”

SFC Christopher Michael Cooper was serving in the United States Army and stationed at Fort Custer in Battle Creek, MI. Christopher was born on April 26, 1978 in Garden City, Michigan. After graduating from Farwell High School in 1996, he enlisted into the United States Army. He earned the rank as Sgt. First Class and served as a foreman mechanic in transportation.

Christopher enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and bowling.

He was remembered by a friend Michelle Murray with the following:

Chris was absolutely a great guy! I learned so much from him. When I first met him in our motor pool, I was asking him to do a particular repair on my vehicle. He refused and offered to show me how to do it instead. “But you’re the mechanic,” I stammered. “Yeah, well a lot of good that will do you if I am not around and you find yourself in a combat situation.”. Good point! Now, every single time I work on my own vehicle or teach my son how to do something on a vehicle, I remember and thank Chris! Thank you for sharing your son with us Miss Cindy. We really appreciated, love and miss him!

He married Jessica A. Porcello on August 1, 2009 in Howell, Michigan. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Jessica; children, Carter 5, Charlie Ann 3, and stepdaughter Madison 11; mother Cindy Cooper Farmer.
